Anecdote

On the day of the Morehead City field trip, my group stooped at a local Chick-Fil-A for lunch.

We pretty much inhaled our wonderfully healthy fried chicken and (semi-)greasy fries.

Christen Rogers and I were debating over what to get for dessert. It was very hard to make the selection when there was only an option of ice cream or a milkshake. :D

Suddenly, Christen screams, "MILKSHAKE!". I'm taken completely aback by this because it was SO sudden.

Christen ordered her milkshake, spelled out her name for the cashier (Christen, if you were wondering), and paid.

A few minutes later, the cashier has Christen's milkshake. She's frantically saying, "Christine? Christine?" with no reply.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Rogers is going like, "*cough* CHRISTEN! *cough*"

The cashier finally got Christen her milkshake, and she says it was yummy. :D

Funny Picture

(Yes, I know I'm a nerd.)

The image obviously says "There's no place like 127.0.0.1."

127.0.0.1 represents an IP address. Every computer on the internet has its own IP address. The IP of the computer shows the location that the router is at to the Internet, just like your home has an address. The IP address is used to communicate with a specific computer.

To a computer, the IP 127.0.0.1 is reserved so that a computer may communicate with itself.

The image is therefore funny because it plays off of the phrase "There's no place like home." If a computer wanted to say "There's no place like home." it would say "There's no place like 127.0.0.1.", because 127.0.0.1 is "home" to the computer.

So, whoever originally made this picture was saying "There's no place like home.", but in a more complex way.

Now that you get it, don't you think it's funny? Comment and tell me!! xD
